My colleague has a 2004 V8 Toureg... She went to get her tires rotated, and the shop said don't even bother... they're shot. Completely worn out. She's only got 14k miles on the tires.

She doesn't remember what kind of tires they are, and I haven't been out to her Toureg to look... Has is been the case that people are noticing early tread wear on their stock Toureg tires?
