As with any auto, YMMV. We have been very fortunate with our 06 Jetta TDI. On a pace of 19K miles a year, been getting on average a combined 42 mpg on diesel. Granted, have two 70 mile round trips a week (35 miles each way) which has some highway driving. Much better fuel mileage than our delightful 03 AllRoad. Fun, but certainly not as fun, nor as expensive, as the Audi. Looking forward to seeing Audi TDI's with fuel mileage somewhere between the Jetta and the gas AllRoad.

The AllRoad is still the go to vehicle in bad weather. A shame it was a mild winter in these parts.
