the car has 165,000 miles. about 1 year ago the turbo started to work / fail intermitantly. this carried on for about 2 months. then it only started to work when the engine reached 3,000 revs. then it stopped working.
i have taken it to 2 seperate mechanics who both say the electrics are OK. there doesn't appear to be any blockages in the pipes (the catalytic converter had already been removed). there is no play in the turbo itself and it appears to be working.
has anyone had similar problems, and found a solution. it'd be much appreciated as i think i have the slowest A4 in the world. thanks, shaun.
