believe it or not, once I drove on VIR w/ visor up and no sun glasses (it was dusk), down the front straight something hit my side mirror and it flew by near my eyes (I felt it). It would have sucked trying to drive & threshold brake into T1 while reacting to crap impacted my eyes. Since then I always wear some sort of eye protection and have set of clear lens for my sunglasses.
