Very bad luck for both front runners.
I think it could have been a very exciting end of a race without a blown tire and a blown motor. From the post race interview (with Heikki) it seems the McLarens did not perform as well as thought on the soft compound but in the last stint on the extra soft Heikki was reeling in Massa at a very fast paste. Maybe Massa was taking it easy to save his motor? But regardless if Lewis would have been right there behind Massa in the last stint it would have been a heck of a dual... Too bad we will never know. Good race from Heikki and Timo who played their cards perfectly. Finally after a better pit stop Kimi (passing Alonso for a position) got the hammer down and was really moving. I guess he lifted his march forward after Massa's Ferrari blew up and decided on a third place finish. Can't wait to see the next race in the streets of Valencia... should be interesting! In the end Lewis still leads the driver's championship over Kimi and then Massa. McLaren is now only 11 points behind Ferrari in the constructor's championship. It's going to be a close finish!
