the seats are definately not as nice as the ones in mine. we got the opportunity to see, and drive the mk5 r32 at the recent soCal r32 gtg trackday at streets of willow. the quality if construction and stiching was lower, they were not as comfortable, especially the bolsters, if you sit down on them they are very pokey and harsh. although ours are very high, deep, and firm, they are soft and totally luxurious. the only thing 'better' is the ease of putting in a 4-point harness. i wish our had the holes so i could easily have them for tracking the car. i will need a cross-brace behind the front seats in order to mount them, and it's bloody inconvenient to have a bar accross there when accessing the rear seats.
the interior was a bit of a downgrade, too. the steering wheel was not as finely made.
the bodywork was a lot more likeable on person, but i still prefer the older one.
yes, yes, i'm biased, but when i tried to be objective, i was able to nitpick a few things.
inside sitting in the seat, as you look out through the windowshield, there's this funky step-up. instead of just a smooth surface from the instrument cluster hood down to the glass, when you get to the glass there's a step up of about 4 inches. it's ugly and distacting to me. i'm sure i'd get used to it over time, maybe. it's there because of the newer high angle slope of the hood, which is to conform to newer pedestrian/front impact standards.
