It's worse than that actually.. If I don't get the chains on the tires before snow, I'll have to drive it in snow without chains, and amazingly enough, my tractor SUCKS in snow without chains. You'd think a tractor would be great, but not so much. It's got skid-steer type tires, which pack snow down rather than dig into it.. I've been taken for some wild rides on that thing after being caught unprepared... Let me tell you, sliding in snow on a 4000lb tractor that has no hope of recovering short of jamming the front end loader into the ground is less than fun.. =)
