A few things: 1 ) Slow the shutter down (1/250th is too fast at 99% of Road Atlanta)

    2) The image looks pretty overexposed. Looks like almost a stop.

    3) If the 24-70 won't focus fast enough (which is pretty probable), prefocus in the exact area (on the pavement) where the car will be and pan with it.

    4) Start shooting early and at your highest FPS rate, a few should be pretty damn sharp.

    5) Get off priority mode, which (can't tell from EXIF) is likely why it's overexposed (reflective metering off the silver car).

Looks like the first four-five turns off the front straight. Fast as hell, for sure, but 1/160th should do it if you get used to it.

PS - The Image through the trees of the R10 is at roughly 190mph after the Kink at RA, just before braking for Canada Corner. I have to prefocus the camera for the images, which is shot at about 300mm. The speed is generally 1/160th to 1/200th there.
