Put the title and the links in the header over a solid background and keep the same header for every page. On the HOME page I'd let the big photo speak for itself but if you want to keep the text over it give it some color. Ditch the .com text in the lower corner and make the copyright something more. I like to create a footer that contians the © and give credit to the web designer with an email link.
