I've got a couple trips coming up over the next few weeks. I'm heading to San Fran for a few days and I'll be at Thunderhill raceway for a DE during that trip. The other event is the Petite LeMans at Road Atlanta. I want to rent a lens that will be good for the typical 'tourist' shots one would take while visiting a city like San Fran but I also need it to be fast enough and have the range to shoot speeding cars on a race track. I'm thinking the Canon 70-200 f2.8L. Any other recommendations? If the 70-200 is the best choice, should I go IS or non-IS?
