Hello -

Yesterday I filled up the tank on my 2003 Passat Wagon, same as always. As I was pulling out of the station I noticed that my malfunction indicator light was on...I read that sometimes if the gas cap isn't screwed on properly, this can cause the light to stay on. I checked and while the cap was on, it wasn't tight to the point that it actually clicked. So, I tightened it up and hoped for the best. Unforunately its now been 24 hours and the light is STILL on. I can't get an apppt/ w. the dealer til next week Fri. so I am wondering if it is even safe to be driving around? Also, is it still possible that this is just related to the gas cap not being tight enough?? I am not noticing any problems w/ the car, so this light is the only indication I have that something might be amiss. Thanks for any thoughts!
