picked up my mk5 after a 7 week delay with paperwork.
started modding the car the moment i got it home. installed color matched front side markers, debadged the 'GTI' on the front and rear, hardwired my V1, installed a 20th anniversary shift knob, and am getting my grille replaced tomorrow for free without the license plate holes. next up, recoding a bunch of stuff with a VAG, installing suspension, and probably some new wheels ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() a familiar place for me ![]() my standard photo location ![]() had to borrow my dad's camera for this one and the focusing sucked. ![]() my Fasts... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() definitely glad i installed my V1 again. i've been used to a car that couldn't speed and with the GTI i'm doing 90 and don't even notice. the 2.0t is such a great engine. power whenever i want it. the suspension is excellent for a stock set up, i just wish it wasn't so high. shifting feels smooth, braking is adequate so far. the seats are very supportive and the steering wheel's flippin great! can't wait to get past the break-in period which should happen pretty soon. picked up the car with 8 miles, now have 210. i've been driving less than 800 a month for the past few years and now i'm driving everywhere just to drive (i'm sure that'll change after i keep filling it up with $3.50 gas!). the engine/exhaust note is pretty nice, but i plan on changing out the Y-pipe with the A3 part to increase throttle response. now out to drive again...
