Heres a few tips

One next time leave the driveside axle in the car.. Just undo the swaybar from the control arms.. undo the three bolts that bolt the ball joint to the control arm and just pull it away from the trans.. Flip the axle under the control arm and it will hold out of the way.. I usually don't even take the wheels off when pulling transmissions doing it this way.

Also take out the passenger side flange into the trans. Just a 6mm allen you can hold the flange with large channel locks.. Its spring loaded so getting it back in you need to put a prybar on flange and the exhaust manifold to force it back in to get it started.. put a rubber glove in to catch any fluid that may leak out.. This makes getting out easier and in even easier..

Also take off that black bar on the top.. That will piss you off trying to get it back in with that in the way.

Definitly much easier then an S4 trans.. these are about 75lbs with a stock diff.. S4 trans dry is about 150lbs..

I've gotten MK4 trans removal down to about 50minutes.

As for getting it back in. Get the diff housing up onto the lip on the subframe then rotate the front up and you can pretty much slide it straight back onto the trans.
