My 2000 Jetta needs to be warmed up b4 I drive it. And even then sometimes it doesn't want to pick up speed. I had a few codes and acted accordingly. The coil pack, CTS, plugs and wires have all be replaced. But unless it's warmed up, it will not go above 3,000 RPMs in 2nd gear. And the coolant temp gauge fluctuates between 160 and 190. Which it never does. Supposed to stay at 190 once at operating temp.
