In prep for my big turbo, I did some stock dyno pulls. On this dyno, we see about 10% loss/correction for the FWD Mk4 Golf/GTi/Jetta. So 153wHP/0.9 = 170cHP. The AWW was rated at 150HP, though it had upgrades from the previous 150HP motor. It seems VW didn't market it at the 170HP range so it didn't conflict with the 174HP VR6 also being sold. When the VR6 moved up to 200HP, then the 1.8T was bumped up to 180HP.
