This is the first milestone/scheduled maintenance visit I've had to deal with since owning a VW.

My to previous cars were a B5 A4, and an allroad.

I ask how the service rep how much the 40k service will run, and he says $600.56.

WHAT?!

Maybe I was spoiled by Audi paying for everything, but that seems a bit exorbitant... I mean 40k service is basically checking normal wear & tear items...

Obviously I won't be paying for this.

Here's my question: Is it worth it to buy the 40k Service kit from ECS Tuning, or just run around and buy all of the items separately?

The kit includes the OEM NGK PFR6Q... I've been reading about the NGK BKR7E plugs, and thinking of running them...

But I digress...

Anyone on here typically do their own maintenance that can chime in? MarkP? Bueler? hehe
