Guys have pinpointed the specific CF<->IDE and CF<->SATA adaptors that are required. Cost about $12 USD. A known working 133x Transcend 32gb CF card is $90. Not a bad solution for NO noise and NO heat.

Not much space to load up a ton of content but it's enough space to have enough stuff on the device to cover a couple days worth of viewing.

On the flip side, you can get a 250gb Seagate Momentus 5400rpm drive for $80. THose drives don't generate a lot of heat which is nice when compared to a 3.5" drive.
