Our ears pointed in the same direction.

It's a shame it calibrates based on a signal it receives coming from a direction quite a ways off from where our ears face. I guess a microphone pointing in the direction of our 'shell-likes' would be a little too expensive to throw-in with the receiver. An additional cost option for such a thing should be provided IMO. Too much of a compromise given the apparent importance and effectiveness of the operation.
