There are lots of last year's models being discounted right now. Have a look, if you see a good deal, take advantage. On Black Friday, the big box stores buy in bulk of certain models they can get at good deals from the manufacturers. They aren't always good brands or models, but it gets people through the doors. It's not always the best time to buy something.
The only good time to buy a TV is when you want one. No matter when you buy one, a short while later there will be something better for less.
Whatever set you buy, make sure you have grabbed the remote before parting with your hard earned and get to know the TV. Make sure it doesn't annoy you with slow menu operation or cheesy graphics (or whatever..) and that it isn't overly noisy or have a bright power light which distracts you.
