If you apply it on drywall and have to remove it later it WILL rip the paper off the drywall despite your best efforts.

I, unfortunately, learned that the hard way.

After that fiasco, in my next rental unit, I opted to buy white colored, flat speaker wire which worked reasonably well against a typical white wall paint scheme.

Once I bought my own home, I spend the time and effort to run everything internally. It's well worth it.
